MYEEP Summer Employment Kicks Off!

We’re rounding out the first month of summer employment in MYEEP! We are excited to be partnering with over 120 wonderful non-profits, businesses, libraries, and recreation centers in San Francisco this summer who have graciously volunteered to train, supervise, and challenge our MYEEP interns. Our interns started work on June 20th and are getting the opportunity to put their pre-employment training into practice and gain valuable work experience.We’d like to highlight a few of our new worksites that have joined the effort this year. Thank you for giving back to the San Francisco community!
Dragonfly Designs, Jewelry with a Conscience, creates exquisite, custom jewelry pieces and unique jewelry collections including necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. Each piece of personalized custom jewelry is lovingly designed and made by hand in the United States using the highest-quality silver, gold, cultured pearl, crystal, and semi-precious stones. Each piece of unique jewelry is customizable.
JAMaROO Kids Now offers Dance, Music, Yoga, JAMaROO Time, Storytime, and Arts and Crafts classes. JAMaROO Kids offers these enrichment programs at over 65 different preschools, grade schools, after-schools, family daycares and recreation centers throughout the Bay Area.
Dandelion Chocolate is a bean-to-bar chocolate factory opening in the Mission District of San Francisco later this year. Currently, in their small factory in the Dogpatch area of San Francisco, they roast, crack, sort, winnow, grind, conch, and temper small batches of beans and then mold and package each bar by hand. By sourcing high quality beans and carefully crafting tiny batches, they try to bring out the individual flavors and nuances of each bean.
San Francisco Botanical Garden Society is the non-profit support organization for the San Francisco Botanical Garden. The San Francisco Botanical Garden Society builds communities of support for the Garden and cultivates the bond between people and plants.
Create Peace Project (CPP) was founded in May of 2008 by Ross Holzman in San Francisco, CA. CPP was formed in response to the overwhelming amount of violence in the world, the violence and negativity streaming through the mass media, coupled with the severe lack of creative arts in people’s lives, the deterioration of arts-programing in U.S. public schools, and the suffering people are experiencing as a result. Create Peace Project is responding to the growing need to strengthen human connection, cultivate self-awareness, spread hope and create peace in people’s lives.
The Exploratorium is a museum of science, art, and human perception located in San Francisco, California. They believe that following your curiosity and asking questions can lead to amazing moments of discovery, learning, and awareness, and can increase confidence in your ability to understand how the world works. They also believe that being playful and having fun is an important part of the process for people of all ages.
