Katherine Aquino has been with JCYC since 2006. She was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to Los Angeles, CA when she was 10 years old. Katherine graduated from the University of California Irvine and then went on to obtain her teaching credentials from the University of California Berkeley. Prior to joining JCYC, she was a high school science teacher at the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). Katherine loves working at JCYC because the entire staff is passionate and determined in empowering youth whether through employment, foster care, academic advising and other services. Not only is JCYC like second family to youth served, as an employee, she feels as if JCYC is also her second family. Katherine is happy being able to wake up every morning, having great friends and family, and being able to go to work to a job she enjoys. Her hobbies and interests include going to check out all the cool restaurants and bars in the San Francisco, listening to live music, and shopping in vintage boutiques.
