How to Give

San Francisco College Access Center

The San Francisco College Access Center’s (SFCAC) mission is to provide culturally relevant, comprehensive college preparation information and assistance. Although open to the community, the program targets students who are low income and the first of their family to attend postsecondary education programs. SFCAC is a collaborative program focusing on service coordination, enhancement, and expansion.

Service highlights include:

Cultural relevance
Services and materials are multilingual and staff represents the multicultural populations of San Francisco.

Service coordination
San Francisco boasts a rich history of providing educational information and advising services through federally funded programs such as Talent Search and Upward Bound. Rather than duplicate services, the SFCAC is a centralized place through which these programs can serve additional students.

Information access
The SFCAC is a clearinghouse for postsecondary resources and information. In addition to printed materials and information, our “virtual” center has links to postsecondary programs, federally funded education assistance programs, related outreach programs, scholarship websites, financial aid websites, and more.

The SFCAC provides an avenue for existing area programs to combine resources and knowledge to better define needed services and target neighborhood areas, helping to make it a one-stop-shop for students and their parents.
